Neue Illustration Grotesque
It’s Nice That recently compiled a number of illustrators who are pushing for an embrace of the weird and grotesque in art and illustration. These artists push back against the pristine mise-en-scène that is so prevalent through social media. Instead they embrace the less appealing and explored aesthetics of biomimicry, such as viscous textures, growth deformations, or beings who teeter between the familiar and slightly unfamiliar.
