Music

Serenity Now curates playlists for clients in the retail and hospitality sectors but also provides a collection of some of their playlist through their website which offer a very serene atmosphere.

Great for playing in the background while working, when hosting people, or relaxing in general.

The project is by Jessi Brattengeier, Creative Director at The New York Times.

Rixard Tattoo

Rixard Tattoo is an absurdist tattoo artist who uses the means of creation as the artwork itself. This means you might seem him tattooing a client while skiing down a slope, the resulting scribbles from the moments where his tattoo machine makes contact with the client’s skin being the resulting artwork.

Other times, Rixard, will use serendipity to lead the way to the artwork. Like using shadows of leaves to create the outlines he will then tattoo, or laying down a series of mirrors in a room, switching off the lights and beaming a laser through the labyrinth of mirrors ending at his patient’s skin. The resulting pattern from the laser reflections then being tattooed onto the skin.

This unique methodology is quite beautiful and results in tattoos that are evocative and beautifully imperfect, telling a story of process and creating a tethering dialogue between the body, nature, and other elements. Brief interactions that are captured through these tattoos, telling a perpetual story and serving as a reminder of how we navigate through the world and the constant interaction between our skin and the world.
