Brazilian Ex-President (Deservedly) Mocked Online

After learning of his loss, Jair Bolsonaro fled Brazil for the welcoming lands of Florida and followed the Trump playbook by skipping the inauguration of Lula to instead eat some KFC.

In Florida, Bolsonaro sought refuge in a Brazilian UFC fighter’s home while his supporters trashed the Brazilian capital. Now that the US debates whether to deport Bolsonaro he is faced with having to plan another way of evading his home country.

At least we got some good memes.

US Military TikTok Psy-ops

This Dazed article profiles some of the influencers spearheading a new kind of influencer who incorporates the styling of internet culture but just happen to be in the military.

The wave of military e-girls on social media are peaking people’s interest and suspicions. Many are theorising that this is yet another covert propaganda drive by the US military to target Gen-Z who has had massive drops in enlistment.

This is not an outrageous theory as the US military complex has had known involvements with Hollywood and the gaming industry by providing equipment and consulting services in exchange for favorable story lines.

Either way, TikTok is an incredibly favourable environment for this kind of phenomenon. Whether the theory is true or not we may not know for a very long time unless official documents prove so. The post-ironic humour used by these military influencers give enough plausible deniability.
